Military.com has a small combat simulator game called Gulf War II at: http://www.military.com/Content/MoreContent1/?file=gc_index called Gulf War II
It's 2006-War has broken out in the Middle East and you're in charge. What are your orders General?
My score: MAJOR COALITION VICTORY!
Saddam has been captured near Baghdad and will be tried by international courts. The new Iraqi leader is favorable to the U.S. Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia have been liberated though much of their infrastructure is in ruins. Coalition forces have suffered light casualties during the conflict while decisively defeating the Iraqi army.

I HAD A REALLY GOOD FEELING SEEING THE 143RD ON THE NET. I REALLY ENJOYED WILFONG'S PICTURES AND I USED TO KNOW MOST OF THOSE MEN. I RAN A GSQ 29 WITH SEVERAL OTHER GUYS. WE WERE THE FIRST TEAM TO MAKE A NIGHT MOVE AND RE- ESTABLISH COMMUNICATIONS THE SAME NIGHT. I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS CPT.GRAY THAT BROUGTH US UP IN FORMATION FOR RECOGNITION IN FRONT OF THE COMPANY AFTER RETURNING TO THE KASERENE. OTHERS IN THE GROUP HERBERT PAYNE, TOMMY PUCKETT, GEORGE MEYER,WILHELM RENISH, SGT.STRUNK,SGT.J.E.DAY.

It's been so long that I forget the company or platoon I was in. I was in the Edwards Kasern (sp?). There was a pizza place across the street from the Kasern the used a wood fired brick pizza oven. Great Pizza, and that's coming from a New Yorker! I was a 31M20. It's funny, after my ETS, the phone company laughed me out of the building saying the equipment I worked with in the Army was obsolete. So I went to a technical shool to becaome a refrigeraion and air conditioning mechanic. So where do I work now? AT&T! I maintain and operate the 1,500KW diesel generators for the communications equipment. I'm also stationary engineer for the building. I downed many and Henninger and Eder beer with the 143rd. Good to see there's a web site for the 143rd. The 5th signal Battalion in Fort Polk, my permanent station prior to the 143rd, is no more. Hope to visit Frankfurt again someday, James Conde

From Webmaster Dan:
PS Magazine with Joe Kubert art/Spiderman story at:
http://www.comicon.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=13&t=000770
"If the name PS Magazine is ringing a few distant bells, it should - a periodical devoted to properly maintaining Army equipment and machinery, PS Magazine has been published monthly since 1951, when it was launched by Will Eisner. Eisner developed the magazine from Army Motors, a publication Eisner worked on while in the Army during World War II. As he has said in numerous interviews and articles, Eisner always held that any subject can be made more palatable and entertaining if accompanied by graphics, namely, cartoons. His theory was that even an Army manual will be more carefully read if the material was presented in an entertainingly interesting manner. In the end, Eisner was right - he produced the magazine for more than 20 years." [quote from the site listed above]

I transfered from Viet Nam to the 143rd in 1970 and was assigned as the Signal Center Platoon Sergeant in C Company. 2LT (Retired Col) Bill Knight was the Plt Leader. 1SG Goeltz was a great guy. I was later reassigned HHC and was the Battalion Operations Sergeant working with Cpt. Kaplan, Cpt. Sutton and SFC Bobby Harnage. Leroy Childs was the S-2 NCOIC. While I was in the S-3, LTC Balsingame was the BN. Cdr. A friend of mine, SFC Murdock, was in A Company. I departed in Dec 1970.
