13 January 1941

The battalion was constituted in the Regular Army as the 46th Signal Company and assigned to the 3rd Armored Division, Spearhead.

15 April 1941

Activated at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana.

7 August 1941

The unit was redesignated as the 143rd Signal Armored Company and moved to Camp Polk, Louisiana.  WWII Roster.

1 January 1942

Redesignated as the 143rd Armored Signal Company. The unit then prepared itself at the Desert Training Center at Indio, California, as well as, Camp Pickett, Virginia and Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Pennsylvania.  The 143rd departed from New York aboard the John Ericsson bound for their staging area in England.

29 June 1944

Arrived in France to support the breakout of the 3rd Armored Division.
